Peachtree Accounting

TARGET GROUP:  This course is targeted at Business owners/ Accounting personnel.

BACKGROUND:  These lessons are designed for persons who require a basic, but practical understanding of the use of Peachtree accounting.  It gives them the opportunity to explore and learn how to use Peachtree firsthand, using practical sample data used in everyday business.

COURSE CONTENT: These lessons will be presented in the form of modules. Each module when complete will be followed up with practical exercises which will further re-enforce the subject material covered. There will be a 15-20 min audio/visual presentation preceding every lesson.

MODULE 1: Introduction to Peachtree accounting

Student will learn:

  • To create, edit, retrieve, and backup new company files.
  • To create, maintain, and edit setting up your company’s your chart of   accounts.

  • Use the various navigational aids available in Peachtree.

 

MODULE 2: Accounts Receivable (sales & receipts)

Student will learn:     

  • To create, edit, and retrieve customer list (Debtors).
  • Preparation of Invoices, Credit Notes, Sales Orders, and Statements,

  • Posting of cash and credit sales transactions to General Ledger.
  • View posted data available reports.

MODULE 3: Accounts Payables (purchases & cash disbursements)

        Student will learn to:     

  • Create, edit, and retrieve creditors list (vendors).
  • Prepare Purchase Orders, Inventory receipts, Cheques, & Cash purchase.   
  • Post cash and credit payments transactions to General Ledger.
  • View posted data through available reports.

MODULE 4: Payroll

        Student will learn:     

  • To create, edit, and retrieve Employee records
  • To create and edit various payroll deductions (NIS, PAYE, etc).
  • Preparation of Payroll.
  • Posting of payroll transactions to General Ledger.
  • Create and view posted data through available reports.

MODULE 5: Inventory

        Student will learn:

  • To create, edit, and retrieve inventory items.
  • Receive, edit & adjust inventory value, method and prices.
  • Posting inventory transactions to General Ledger.
  • Create and view posted data through available reports.

MODULE 6: General Ledger

        Student will learn:     

  • To reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations
  • Edit general ledger transaction using Journal entries.
  • Retrieve financial statement reports (Balance sheet & Income statement)
  • Change accounting periods and Close off year.
  • Create and view reports.

ASSESSMENT: Class Exam (practical)
